We have been researching our family history for some years now, on and off since the late 1970s, but fairly seriously in recent years. As with most projects of this type it is work-in-progress, so please bookmark this site and check back regularly for updates.

The military service research got off the ground with the discovery of a photograph, which we dated to 1901, of Grandpa Jack SPILLER, his eight brothers and parents. Jack and five of his brothers served in the Great War. 

The GURNEY family tree research is the work of Maria's uncle Hugh Gurney. A subset is reproduced here with his permission.
